“I first crossed paths with Michela when my daughter was 12 years old.
The sight of an animal, particularly dogs and cats, traumatised April and this had been the case since she was born. The fear would cause April to panic, run and even climb to get away, even if a dog was within a 100 meter radius. It was impossible to reason with her.
After attempting other methods that failed, we hoped that in time she would grow out of these horrific fear incidents; unfortunately this was not the case, they only worsened, and were taking a toll on her heart.
My husband and I were given Michela's details, and were initially skeptical about the process Michela had designed for April. April convinced us that this was going to be her saving grace and we commenced a 15 week program of getting to the heart of the matter.
By the end of the treatment program with Michela, I was astounded in the difference in April. A few weeks into her process, I witnessed April approach a small dog and pat it, I was stunned. By the 9th week we were ready to test the waters, literally. April went swimming with sharks, patted dogs and even chose the breed of dog she wanted for her own!
April has gained confidence in her self. This process changed not only April's life, but also our entire family. Without Michela’s intervention, I know her future would be completely different and limited to how she is leading it now.
We thank Michela so much for giving us back our beautiful happy girl, who now has the world at her feet.
Our interactions are also not limited to Michela's assistance with April, as Michela has gone on to assist both my husband and I through several traumatic years with losses in our family and haunting nightmares that have now been cured.
To be the person I am today is largely down to Michela's care, love and persistence. Grief can be so debilitating and soul destroying but I now know you can get through this, if you put in the work, and trust in the process that Michela leads you through.
